Kim Si

1524–1593 · Korean painting · 1 work

Kim Si (1524 to 1593) belonged to the aristocracy of Joseon Korea. After his father, Kim Anro, fell from power, he withdrew from public life and spent his days as a reclusive artist. His scholar alone in a snowy studio, painted in 1584, is one of the rare early Joseon paintings to survive.
