About Galler

Overview

Galler brings artworks from museum collections into a shared virtual space. Explore 2,737 works by 467 artists, from paintings, prints and drawings to calligraphy, ceramics and sculpture. The virtual museum displays 627 of these works in 121 galleries along one long hall through time, from 1400 to 1930, and in the Asian art pavilion. Choose a painting, explore its gallery, and use Atlas to discover artists and styles through time.

The museum and its Atlas follow one structure: styles connect artist galleries, and each artist gallery contains their artworks. In each gallery the works run from earlier to later, starting at its doorway. Atlas places those same artists and works in time; an artist can connect to more than one style. Collections such as Across water, into air offer another way to compare works across artists.

The public museum is free to explore, with no account needed. Sign in to create one private space for free, upload your photos, and arrange them alongside favorite artworks. Membership includes Dawson’s AI art conversations and up to five private spaces in total. Galler is an independent project by Studio AM.

Artwork credits

Every artwork image comes from a museum’s open access program:

Each artwork page names its museum, credit line and license, and links to the museum’s own record of the work. Galler is not affiliated with or endorsed by these museums.

The virtual architecture is made for Galler. It is an imagined museum, not a replica of the institutions that hold the original works. Museum previews are renders of our gallery using the original artwork images.

How we write

The readings, looking prompts and introductions to artists, rooms and styles are drafted with AI from the museum records linked on each page and other published sources, then checked against those sources. Translations are made with AI too. Titles, dates, credit lines and licenses come from the museums’ own records.

Dawson draws on Galler’s artwork notes to answer your questions. Its conversational replies are generated when you ask and aren’t individually reviewed. Learn about Dawson.

Ways to explore

You can browse every public artwork without entering the 3D museum. Collection and artwork pages support keyboard navigation; artwork views include zoom controls and a neutral image view.

Inside the museum, open More controls for keyboard shortcuts and on-screen movement buttons. The 3D view requires WebGL and remains primarily visual. If navigating it is uncomfortable or your device does not support it, use the collection pages.

Choose a language and a theme (System, Light or Dark) from the globe menu in the header, or from the Account menu once you sign in. The home page, the collection pages, Atlas and the museum are available in English, Korean, Spanish, Japanese, French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese. Account, membership and policy pages are in English.
