Unrecorded Korean makers
2 works
This group stands for makers whose names the holding museums do not record, not for a single artist. In this pavilion it holds one Korean Buddhist painting, made on hemp in the late 1500s or early 1600s, when, as the Art Institute of Chicago notes, Buddhism was becoming the faith of ordinary people and painters turned to cheaper materials.
