Shravana

Active 1550s–c. 1600 · South Asian painting · 3 works

Shravana was an Indian painter whose work for Akbar’s court spans some forty years. About 1560 he painted pages of the Tales of a Parrot; on one, the Cleveland Museum of Art notes, he added a pink brick wall for depth. In 1598 to 1600 he painted Akbar’s ancestor Timur for a Zafar-nama, or Book of Victories.
