Find the ring of dots that makes the clock face, then look at the edges where the blocks of watercolor around it overlap.
Klee made this small watercolor in Munich in 1913, a year after 17 of his works hung in the Blue Rider’s second exhibition. The sheet is about 18 by 17 centimeters, and the clock of the title is a pale circle with a ring of dots among soft blocks of yellow, green and violet. It stayed with his wife, Lily, after his death in 1940.
