Find Rachel sitting quietly at the opening of the tent, then follow the two men’s open hands and the flocks spread across the landscape.
In this story from Genesis, Rachel has secretly taken her father Laban’s household gods as she leaves with her husband, Jacob. When Laban catches up and accuses Jacob of theft, Jacob invites him to search the tents, while Rachel stays seated on the saddlebag that hides the statues. The search fails and the men make peace, a story of reconciliation spread across a canvas more than three and a half meters wide.
