Perugino
1445/46–1523 · High Renaissance and Mannerism · 4 works
Pietro Vannucci was called Perugino after Perugia, the city where he worked. In the early 1480s he led the painting of the Sistine Chapel walls in Rome, and around 1500 the young Raphael worked with him. His sweet, gentle manner won him success in Italy and beyond, though it changed little after the 1490s.
