Find the two puppies behind the bamboo fence and the sparrow at right, then the pale ring at left, which marks a door pull rather than a moon.
These four paintings were once sliding doors, fusuma, inside a building, and the Cleveland Museum of Art dates them to about 1792 to 1794. Pale circles on the paper mark where the door pulls once sat. Here two puppies peer out from behind a bamboo fence twined with chrysanthemums, and a sparrow perches beside them. Rosetsu signed this panel at upper left.
