Compare the warm stack with the cool field, and look for touches of pink and blue within the apparently white snow.

This winter scene is part of Monet’s 1890–91 group of wheat stacks near his Giverny home. He worked on multiple canvases outdoors and refined them in the studio. Keeping the farm subject recognizable while changing the surrounding light made it possible to compare one weather condition with another.
