Painted in the 1740s for the same unknown house as Music and Dance, this over-door shows putti gathered by a fountain as if sharing a secret. Boucher also painted portraits, everyday scenes and religious and mythological subjects, yet the owners chose him for wall decoration. Light, playful pastoral fantasies like this one pleased both the French court and wealthy collectors.
