The Brücke artists went to variety theaters in Berlin as well as in Dresden, and Kirchner moved to Berlin in 1911. He drew these two dancers in 1913 with a reed pen and black ink on brown paper. A small cat at the lower left is drawn with the same rough strokes as the women.
