1885–1941 · Cubism · 2 works
Robert Delaunay was born in Paris in 1885. He began in a studio that made theater sets and studied the color theories of Michel-Eugène Chevreul. From 1909 he painted the Eiffel Tower, then windows and circles of color. With his wife, the painter Sonia Delaunay, he developed Orphism, an abstract style grown out of Cubism.
