Two artists in two cities, in the same decade. In Paris, Amedeo Modigliani painted the artists, dealers and partners around him with long faces and almond eyes. In Berlin, Käthe Kollwitz made prints of her own face, before and after her son Peter was killed in 1914. Compare how each builds a face from line and tone.
