Edgar Degas
1834–1917 · Impressionism · 25 works
Degas studied contemporary life through dancers, entertainers and figures in private settings. He explored drawing, pastel, painting and sculpture, often arranging a scene from unexpected viewpoints. His connection to Impressionism did not mean sharing every other member’s approach.
