Compare the tiny separate marks with the large triangular wedge of river, then follow the bands of fields across the distant hill.
This harbor view belongs to an early series in which Signac used separate dots and dashes of contrasting color. Alongside the small marks, strong geometry organizes the scene: river, quay, and hillside form broad shapes. It helps reveal how Neo-Impressionist painting can combine divided color with a firmly structured landscape.
