Look at the snow lying along the umbrella, the two faces close together beneath it, and the reeds bending under snow by the stream at the right.
A young man in a hood and a young woman share one umbrella on a walk through the snow beside a stream. Isoda Koryūsai, a pupil of Harunobu, designed the print about 1770, a few years after full-color printing was perfected, and signed it at the right. A verse in the snowy sky at the upper right carries the name of the poet Bashō.
